Which version is compatible with Windows 11 without crashing or hanging?

Hi,

Please use Quartus lite 23.1 as it is compatible with window 11. Previous Quartus version will have some issues like open/saving (due to windows 11 MS one drive, need disable sync desktop ) or some other issues that requires some workaround fixes in order just to run as it was developed based on Windows 10 . Thus it is advisable to use 23.1 on Windows 11.

For Windows 11, which version of ModelSim shall I use?

Usually, Quartus installation is bundle together with the Modelsim.

Which means, whichever Quartus supported OS, it will be same as the Modelsim. Hope that clarify.

It seems that Windows 11 is not compatible with the Questa*-Intel® FPGA Starter Edition.

Any suggestion on which version of ModelSim I can use?

Yes, it's Questasim. I haven't tried on Questasim yet. 

May I know if it's ok I used Windows 11 for Questasim?

In the list of OS, I couldn't find about MAC, which version is suitable for MAC?

We do not support MAC since it is not listed.

We will not prevent user to use the Questasim in Windows 11, but if you find any bugs, the support might be longer as we have not claim to support that OS yet.

We have check internally, the preliminary plan to support Questasim for Window 11 is QPDS 24.3. If you do not have further question, we shall close this thread.

Yes,  four releases per year, one about each quarter: 24.1-24.4 for 2024.
