Does altera have any locations in Toronto that will fix DE2 boards? Some of the segments in Hex6 and 7 don't light up anymore. Thanks!

You don't need an Altera specific repair shop. The hex displays are through hole. You could remove them by either;

1) Remove the solder from the individual pins using a soldering iron and solder-sucker or solder wick

2) (my favorite rework method) two soldering irons and a lot of solder. Flow enough solder to simultaneously cover all pins on each side of the device (one soldering iron per set of pins), and then the device will fall off. Then clean the holes with solder wick.

Find a proficient rework guy, and it'll take a few minutes to repair.

Cheers,

Dave

Obvious question. Did you check that it's a display problem?
