When going outside my home i got this message for my license. This license worked fine at my home however as soon as I got outside it gave me the following error code: "Unable to checkout a viewer license necessary for use of the Questa Intel Starter FPGA Edition graphical user interface.
Vsim is closing." How would i be able to fix this? i put my license in the discription

Hi,
that's not your license.
Your license is bound to network adapter MAC, most likely the chosen network adapter is not connected when you are out of home, e.g. if it's inside a docking station. Solution get a license bound to an internal network adapter, e.g. WiFi.

Yes, and then point to the actual license file with the LM_LICENSE_FILE environment variable.

You may regenerate license.dat file in SSLC https://licensing.intel.com/, Refer the steps here: Guide to generate license file.
