I just ran into the same problem. I want to implement the displayport into a Cyclone V and had the information from the website (http://www.altera.com/technology/high_speed/protocols/displayport/pro-displayport.html)that supported devices are:

But when I check the "DisplayPort MegaCore Function User Guide" (here (http://www.altera.com/literature/ug/ug_displayport.pdf)) I find in Table1-2 the information that only Arria V, Arria V GZ and Stratix V are supported (Table 1–2 lists the level of support offered by the DisplayPort MegaCore function for each Altera device family.).

Since I got quite confused by the different support tables, I just installed the Quartus II Web Edition and tried the "MegaWizard Plug-In Manager". Unfortunately the DisplayPort is greyed out. Now I'm wondering if this option is greyed out due to the limited complexity of the Web Edition or due to my used device (Cyclone V).

I'd be happy if anyone can help me solving the confusion.

Thank you!

DisplayPort is also greyed out in 13.0 Subscription Edition, so i don't think it's a Web Edition issue

however, it is no longer greyed out in 13.1 customer beta :)
