HI to everyone,
I am really in trouble about Quartus downloading and installation procedure and result. After a series of tentatives I downloaded Quartus subscription 30days to check a design with Startix IV and V. After a very long time to download the program (using the altera download program) the program seems installed. I am using a windowsXP 32bit SP2 (just appointed for quartus), when I started an error is issued saying "application was not correctly initialized (0xc0150002). what I have to do? thank you in advance maurizio stefaniLink Copied

Hi
Are you sure Quartus is installed ? Maybe you have only decompressed files. Downloader downlaods Quartus_install Quartus_install first decompress files to temporary directory : approx 6 Go !! then it installs to directory you specified : it copies the 6Go to the destination directory and do some register settings Have you got enough memory ? See release note : for Stratix you need many many many RAM. You should send an Altera request : see menu>support>.... in www.altera.com- Mark as New

32bit winXP is not suitable for stratix 4 and 5, as you can only get a max of 3GB of ram (and that is with some OS tweeks, otherwise max is 2GB). So you're on to a ***** before you start as you can only compile the smallest S4 device. Minimum recommended ram for the smallest Stratix V device is 8GB
