"SPI" vs "PS" for FPGA configuration

 I want to know if there is a compatibility between the SPI (serial peripheric interface) bus and the PS (Passive Serial) for the configuration of FPGA (Altera Cyclone III)    Thank you.  N.B: look at page 257 : PS Configuration Timing

Basically yes. PS is often driven by uP SPI interfaces.

You didn't ask a particular question. To my opinion, the said configuration handbook basically tells how to use PS mode, e.g. with a uP as configuration source. Additonally, Altera is providing a software example covering PS configuration. https://www.altera.com/support/software/download/programming/microblaster/dnl-microblaster.html
