hiya fellows, im doin a project based on finger gestures recognition. i need a board with following spec * a faciity to attach camera * pretty large memory to store and process video frames * connection to a speaker and input from microphone. * a port to connect to my phone * a lcd to display the pic i referred to DE1/DE2 boards and it was said that it was camera development package.i need to know is it possible to store vhdl codes for gesture recognition and few more modules and simulate it on these boards or is these board only for development of camera. im really confused pls i need help urgently.

The Nios Embedded Evaluation Kit may fit your needs:

Perhaps the title of your post should have been "Please justify me in using a DE1/DE2 for image processing". In the end, all the boards are about the same. They are FPGAs with memory and I/O. The only thing that distinguishes them is the amount of memory and type of IO.

You write the code for the FPGA so it does whatever you want it to.

You can use the NIOS if you want to but you certainly don't have to. If the DE1 or DE2 have the memory you need and the I/O you need then go ahead and use one of those.
