thermal issue with 10M50DAF484I7G

I'm using the max10 (10M50DAF484I7G),

can I cool the max10 via GND and power pins to the PCB, like they do with regulators?

as my thermal simulation and calculation got Tj more than 100°C

the data:
  • power max 4.82W
  • Tj max 100°C by datasheet
  • Rja is 17.3 °C/W for 400 ft/min - datasheet
  • the simulation calculate the airflow on the MAX10 is 2 m/s (this is ~400 ft/min)
  • for max power  and 48° and 44 CFM --> Tj=Ta+(PxRja) --> 48°C + (4.8W x 17.3) = 131°C
  • can I use the 56 GND pins for cooling

thx Alon Heqa

ok, I found my typo

typical 1.75W and max of 2.3W sound like the right number

thx Alon

Hi,
how did you arrive at 4.8 W power dissipation. The value sounds rather high, is it achieved by power analysis of an actual design?
