this is a last ditch attempt to solve this before I give up and use a sata drive.. which would be a pity.
Im trying use a pair of 600p M.2s in RAID0 as a boot disc for Windows 10. Whether it's RAID or just ahci, if I install windows on either drive, I got a bsod "irql_not_less_or_equal" everytime after logging in to windows. This doesn't happen when booting from sata, and I can load the irst drivers and use the m.2. Raid from windows with no problems.
Tried two different z270 boards - Asus Prime z270a and now Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7. I have used different Memory. I have seen various forums saying to use old drivers, and have replaced the drivers with old ones and that has caused more bsod at startup.
Any thoughts or pointer anyone?
thanks

That's correct. In fact, I've unplugged all satas and attempted to run with only the M.2s. Yes, in full UEFI with csm disabled.

Can you install Win10 on one 600p in RAID mode in slot M.2_1 without BSOD? (Load the RST 15.x driver during Win10 install with 'Have Disk')

I can install it, but it's the same result. Just doesn't want to be an install Drive it seems!
i have two, so I've tried installing separately on each, in case of a fault with the m.2... still the same.

Just confirming -- In your previous installations of Win10, you loaded the RST driver during setup?
All partitions were deleted before you reinstalled Win10?
Before you reinstalled Win10 using a single 600p, was either of them reset to non-RAID in the RST oprom?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I loaded the RST driver in setup when attempting to install to the RAID. Obviously didn't need to though when installing on a non-RAID. At the beginning of each installation, I used custom, and deleted all partitions, and then allowed setup to create them from fresh. And I have tried the drives both in ahci and raid mode.

Is the RST driver you're using is version 15.2.0.1020? http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/sata/IRST_Win7_81_10_V15201020.zip http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/sata/IRST_Win7_81_10_V15201020.zip (Driver \ 64Bit \ iaStorAC.inf for RAID)
On the off chance that the ASUS download is corrupt, try the Intel version: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26361/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driver?product=55005 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26361/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driver?product=55005
Also, there's a newer RST you could try, supplied by ASUS: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/sata/RST_15211028.zip http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/sata/RST_15211028.zip
If none of that works, it's strange indeed. I'd do the usual troubleshooting steps:
Update the BIOS.
Use one stick of RAM.
Unplug everything that isn't required.
Set BIOS defaults.
Set only the BIOS options that you require to boot properly (CSM - Disabled, RAID - enabled).
I'd test out the M.2 PCIe RST RAID myself, but I have none of those at hand right now
