Is there a way to get RST to stop notifying me about a S.M.A.R.T. error?

I have an older SATA III hard drive on my computer that is probably going to fail in the near future. I don't care. I use the drive as a backup backup and as a temporary storage space only. The drive is non-RAID, but my computer is configured for RAID so it manages all drives through the RAID driver.

Every time I boot the computer, Intel RST warns me that there is a S.M.A.R.T. condition on the drive. I can open RST and click the link to suppress the warning, but that only lasts until I reboot the computer again.

Is there a way to acknowledge the S.M.A.R.T. condition permanently so Intel RST stops nagging me about it? I'll replace the drive eventually (either before or after it fails), but I really don't want to be reminded about it intrusively every time I turn on the computer.

Thanks.

Since this is an indication of a pending failure, I don't believe that there is a way to disable it. You can try disabling S.M.A.R.T. in the BIOS, but I am unsure that this will affect the operation of RST.
