Keep getting a drive fail on the same port

I have 4 drives in a Windows 2016 server. There are two raid arrays set up as RAID1. I keep having the same drive slot reporting as failed. I've put 2 new drives in there and the RAID rebuilds fine, runs for a couple weeks, then says failed. I'm not sure if I have an MB problem or a software problem.

I took the two old drives that had originally been taken out of the RAID as failed and found that the data seems fine. I used Crystal Disk Info to confirm that the hardware itself is fine.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? The error notification I receive is as follows:

---------------

SATA disk on Controller 0, Port 2: Failed.

Volume Data: Failed.

Hello PLaFl, Thank you for posting on the Intel ® communities. I would like to know if you tried other drives in the port where it shows failed, this it to see if, no matter the drive, the Intel ® Rapid Storage Technology shows as failed. Also, please provide me with an System Support Utility report, this report can be generated from our tool, you can refer to the link below so you can download it:  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- Make sure to attach the created report to this thread. Honestly I decided to just move on and break the RAID array. I was frusted by your question about whether I had tried other drives in that port. I explained in my original that I have put two new drives in there and within a few days to a week after rebuild, it reports that drive as failed again. I needed to get the server going so I moved on.

From now on I will use only hardware RAID as the Intel software RAID does not seem reliable.

Thank you anyways,

Paul
