Re: Keep getting a drive fail on the same port

I have 4 drives in a Windows 2016 server. There are two raid arrays set up as RAID1. I keep having the same drive slot reporting as failed. I've put 2 new drives in there and the RAID rebuilds fine, runs for a couple weeks, then says failed. I'm not sure if I have an MB problem or a software problem.

I took the two old drives that had originally been taken out of the RAID as failed and found that the data seems fine. I used Crystal Disk Info to confirm that the hardware itself is fine.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? The error notification I receive is as follows:

Honestly I decided to just move on and break the RAID array. I was frusted by your question about whether I had tried other drives in that port. I explained in my original that I have put two new drives in there and within a few days to a week after rebuild, it reports that drive as failed again. I needed to get the server going so I moved on.

From now on I will use only hardware RAID as the Intel software RAID does not seem reliable.
