i am new and try to install windows with rufus method, at first everthing is fine. my nvme is detected in installation and i make partition of it.

after installing, comes next step that needed internet connection but weirdly, windows cant continue without it. so i find a way and some solution to do the “oobe/smth iforgot exactly” restart installation

its basically restarting the installation and now we can continue without internet step, BUT

suddenly my pc didnt detect the NVME like there is no drivers at all (i only install nvme no others drivers like ssd or hdd)

so im confuse now?? how can i make my nvme read again to install windows

i didnt know how if my ssd is detected on bios (asrock) or not bcs i didnt know. but for sure now in the installation can’t detect the nvme.

here is some photo on the bios storage room

As I said in the other conversation, if you,

  • Have Intel RST enabled (in BIOS Setup) and do not provide the RST drivers during the installation process, or
  • You do not install using UEFI Boot mode, or
  • You are using MBR partitioning on the drive (which forces Legacy Boot mode),

then your drive is not going to be recognized by the Windows 11 installer.

hi scott! thank you for the reply im so glad having fast reply since im panicking last night

  • So, per u said i might have Intel RST enabled but i didnt have RST provided drivers during installation, right? for this clearly didnt know if the RST is enabled or not, and if i have RST in my driver or not, because what i know first my ssd is detected when installation and then not
  • for the UEFI boot mode, its clear that my sandisk flashdisk is in UEFI boot mode when i checked on BIOS (attached)
  • for the third i choose GPT when burn to flashdisk in rufus selection im pretty sure

im looking on the internet many forums/yt said that solve it with RST(?) for the driver(nvme) and when installation windows select driver i need to browse and find the driver that been burn to flashdisk. therefore, it would install the driver of the ssd and it will detect the ssd

but many said i didnt work either. since im not in my pc know i want to know, should i try those? or any idea?

Hi @Habb

1. Why are you using Rufus for this installation? Are you trying to install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware?

2. When you mentioned a command “oobe/smth iforgot exactly”, did you meant that in Command Prompt you executed OOBE\BYPASSNRO  and your PC rebooted?

3. Any way, please read carefully this tutorial to get explanation how to install Windows 11 on supported hardware.

All I can add is that, unless you are going to use RAID or have an Optane SSD, you should NOT install Intel RST. Once upon a time, Intel's Storage driver outperformed that provided by Microsoft and people recommended installing Intel RST to get better performance. This is no longer the case - and, in fact, has not been the case since before Windows 10 was released. Bottom line, Intel RST has no redeeming qualities unless you need RAID or Optane SSD support. It will simply complicate a lot of things. Stay away from it.
