MMose7, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.
In order to provide the most accurate assistance, we just wanted to confirm a few details about your platform:
What is the model of the motherboard?
What is the model of the Intel® Processor?
If this a laptop, what is the model of it?
Which Intel® Rapid Technology version are you using?
Are you using a RAID configuration?
Which Windows* version are you using?
Any questions, please let me know.

MMose7, Thank you very much for letting us know that information.
We always recommend to install the Intel® Rapid Storage Technolgy validated by the manufacturer of the computer. I looked at Dell's web site and the Intel® Rapid Storage Technolgy version confirmed by them is 12.8.0.1016 ,A00.
Even though you are not using a RAID configuration, please back up any important information and then uninstall the Intel® RST from "Apps and Features", after then install the version provided by them:
Once you get the chance, please let us know the results.
