Hi,
Has anyone faced this problem with the latest 13.2.4.1000 driver?
I have a windows 7 x64 machine. After I install Intel RST version 13.2.4.1000, I can hear the sound of my DVDROM being accessed from time to time despite there is no disc inside. Apart from that, the log in the event viewer also showed CDROM controller error.
Regards,
Lame

Hi Guys,
Can you please test this version and let me know the results? We really need to have feedback on this as soon as possible.

If issue persists, please provide the following:
- Detail Steps in how you are reproducing the issue.
- Brand/ model of ODD or HDD connected to the system
Please make sure you have all drivers up to date. Consider also, updating the BIOS for your systems.

I'll try to test it out tomorrow for a longer period of time, but I have a lot going on at work. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary after installing RST 13.5.0.1056 on a Windows 7 x64 PC with the same ODD, motherboard, processor, and RAM as the list of parts in my first post.

RST 13.5.0.1056 has solved the original issue I had. I've had it up and running on a few PC's with ODD's, no problems thus far.

Hi
I'm thinking about updating my RST driver.
Currently I'm on version 13.0.3.1001.
These are my system specs:
Intel I5 4690
Asus ROG Maximus VII Ranger(Latest bios 2012)
CORSAIR 16GB (2X8GB) 1866MHZ CMY16GX3M2A1866C9R (XMP)
ASUS GTX970-4GD5 4GB GDDR5 (stock speed) 344.75 Nvidia drivers
INTEL 120GB 2.5 INCH 530 SERIES SSDSC2BW120A401
WESTERN DIGITAL 1000GB WD BLACK™ 64MB 7200RPM WD1003FZEX
CORSAIR 650W RM650 RM SERIES CP-9020054-EU
MICROSOFT 64 WINDOWS 8.1 64BIT
When I visit the ASUS website to the only version I can see is 13.1.0.1058.
Now my question is:
Can I safely update the RST drivers that are provided from here or Intel?
I'm a bit confused because at the Intel website it says for Intel® NUC
This download is valid for the product(s) listed below.
Intel® NUC Board NUC5i3MYBE
Intel® NUC Board NUC5i5MYBE
Intel® NUC Kit NUC5i3MYHE
Intel® NUC Kit NUC5i3RYH
Intel® NUC Kit NUC5i3RYK
Intel® NUC Kit NUC5i5MYHE
Intel® NUC Kit NUC5i5RYH
Intel® NUC Kit NUC5i5RYK
Or should I use the ones that are provided by ASUS for my motherboard?
Thanks in advance for the info

When updating drivers it is important to verify the driver release notes and know the reason why you are updating the software. If there is no need to update the software then it is not necessary to do the update.
In any case, if you would like to update the IRST you can get it at this link:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24501 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24501
It says for NUCs so it should be installed on NUCs; however, I installed it on a motherboard and it is working just fine. You can try updating the driver but I cannot guarantee it will work fine if it is not a NUC system.

I wonder why they continue to provide a faulty driver after all this time. When I go to http://downloadcenter.intel.com/ Intel® Download Center and look for Rapid Storage Technology it still says "13.2.4.1000 (Latest)".

These topic help my money and time.
Last 3 weeks ago, I couldn't burn any discs with Toshiba ODD.
Then I went to buy new LG GH24NS but it hang freeze so often.
Then I went to replace with Lite-On iHAS324-E but it still hang freeze too often.
Lost my many fuel, many DVD discs, many times and many money.
I tried to enable Gigabyte's SATA chip and used these port. I can't believe it works.
Now updating to new version 13.5.2.1000.
