The Rapid Storage Technology (12.5.0.1066) application will not accept an email preference of the form "xxxxx@home.local".
It says the email address is invalid; which it is not.

Thanks for joining our community.
I just checked with engineering department and they mentioned this is expected, you will need .COM domain, otherwise, you will get invalid email address error message.

So a programming ERROR "is expected".
Glad you folks aren't building airplanes.
Let's try this again. It is a BUG and it should be fixed.
There are dozens of valid top-level domains: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_top-level_domains https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Internet_top-level_domains
besides .com.
In fact, all they have to do is remove the top-level domain check. The customer knows what they need and
A successful test message will validate or not the email configuration data.
