Hi All,
I'm looking for a way to monitor the health of the RAID one array of our Dell desktops.
They are Dell Precision 3440 SFF with these specs:
Chipset Intel W480
Processor 10th Generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7/i9/Xeon
DRAM bus width Two channels, 128-bit
Flash EPROM 32 MB
PCIe bus Upto Gen 3
WIth 2 256GB NVMe Samsung SSD in a RAID 1 configuration.
I'm looking for a way to monitor the health of the RAID array.
I've installed the IRST driver and Intel Optane Memory and Strorage Management (OMSM).
OMSM only gives info on the RAID configuration and state, but it has no alerting capability and doesn't even put logs in the Windows Event viewer, does he ?
I cant IRST with GUI, so OMSM is my only way to manage the RAID array.
Does OMSM, or IRST or the RAID array leave any trace in the Event viewer, or some logs that I can feed off to create alerts ? Please help

What you see is what you've got. Some Marketing IDIOT decided, without consulting the customer base, that the alerting capability was unnecessary - and so out it was ripped. Now there's no way to create alerts. It's restoration has been requested by a number of customers and ICS responded in another conversation that we would see it again in the fullness of time. Not to far, however. They've been too busy polishing the turd that is OMSM.
Off my soapbox now,
...S

Ah! That's the conclusion I get.
I have removed a drive from a RAID 1 set while their were running to generate events, the only event that was generated is:
Event ID 129, iaStorAC “Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0
I did some research on the source iaStorAC and it seems like its a generic Windows driver/utility.
Through Reddit, I found out that Lenovo uses it in one of their custom scripts to signal a "degraded RAID array".
See here.
I don't how true is that because I'm failing to find on the internet a document that lists iaStorAC vent IDs and there meaning.
