Where are Intel RST Logs???

Where can I see the raid controller logs?
My controller is built into the Intel S3420GP motherboard on which Windows 2008 Server runs.
I launched Intel RST, but there is no indication anywhere to view logs.

Hi Deem,

Thank you for reaching Intel Community.

Kindly be informed that the Intel Server Board S3420GPV is already discontinued and no longer support. Below is the details of the product.

Link: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/48472/intel-server-board-s3420gpv.html

However, we found the article that related to Intel RST where there is no way to get the logs.

Hope this clarifies your inquiry.

Hi Fikri,

I followed the second link, it says that logs are not supported starting from version 17. I have version 14.8.0.1042, the logs are nowhere to be seen in Intel RST.

Hi Deem,

I am using  14.10.0.1016  most fresh for our chip-set generation / age.

Intel RST windows service, in theory it does communicate with Windows Event Viewer and log.

I would expect at any Disk Event this to be recorded at Event viewer/ windows log / Application.

Intel RST actual software, this deliver Status Event when this is active,  due warning balloon message and notification area icon  / taskbar.

If you are interested to check remotely server status?  Then just  connect and review Event viewer/ windows log / Application

And this would be enough.

In case that you will activate IRST / preferences / scheduler (verify and repair),  I would expect any activity this to be also recorded at Event viewer/ windows log / Application.

Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology / IAStorDataMgrSvc  this gets recorded at startup / Event ID 7303

I am using Win7 Pro workstation, and NEW pair of fast HDD Raid-1.

Hello Deem,

Good day!

As per the shared article, its mentioned that Once any version of Intel® RST is installed, there are no event logs.

Also, This is currently in the works by Intel engineering; however, Intel® Customer Support does not have an ETA for this.

Thank you for understanding.

Regards,

Sachin KS
