I just noticed, that there is already driver version at least 16.7.1.x out for the RST, you can see that in the Windows WHQL database, or look for example on this update by Dell:

The latest version on the Intel servers is though just 16.5.1.x found here:

Dell states, 16.7.1.x has the following fix:

Fixes:

- The package fixes stability issues with NVMe storage devices

So I obviously want to use the updated driver, but don't want to use the entire package, but the x64 floppy disk driver only version, which is so far not in the Intel servers. Why?

Hello klumsch,

Thank you for joining our Intel ® Community.

I understand that you have questions regarding our Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) downloads.

In this case, the reason why the software 16.7.1.x has not been released in our servers/download center is because the version 16.7.1.x is a OEM version which is specifically configured for your system.

Our 16.5.1.1030 is a generic version (latest), for Intel ® native systems and does not include the optimization and fixes added by Dell* mentioned above in their latest software.

We always recommend installing the specific version related by your vendor as our version is only generic.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Diego S.
