Hello

In a Process of installation my Pc switched to safe mode to install intel driver /instead of ahci/ after booting without lan into safe mode, message appeared that i dont have app to open link. what kind of app do i need ? I am currently in a process of installing drivers after clean installation of W11 Pro

Best practice would be to put software i need in Sys Req but i could not find anything about needed software.

What do i need then ?

Intel Rapid Storage (RST) is used to support Intel's RAID implementation:

  • If you are going to use RAID, then you need to install the RST package validated and provided by your motherboard manufacturer. A reboot following this installation should result in the appropriate version of the app being automatically installed from the app store.
  • If you are not interested in using RAID, the best thing that I can say is go back into BIOS Setup and reconfigure for AHCI. This might require you to have clean install Win11 again, but try booting into and then exit from safe mode (it might auto-fix the issue).

Hope this helps,

Thank You for quick response. I am not planning on using raid. Does it improve performance of ssd m.2 disc in any way ?

How can i check if it has been installed ? Installation was not successful so maybe it has rolled back but i want to be sure where can i check for that ?

Thanks a lot

Once upon a time, the Intel RST Storage driver was better performing than the Microsoft-supplied Storage driver. This is no longer the case; performance is a wash. The only reason to use the Intel RST Storage driver is for RAID (well, and Optane caching and SSD support, but this is pretty much dead now). Bottom line, considering the complexity added by Intel RST, if you aren't using RAID, do yourself a favor and don't use it.
In most cases, the BIOS provides a method for viewing the RAID H/W and F/W status. Within Windows, you need the Intel RST package successfully installed and the tool loaded from the MS App Store.
Hope this helps,
