Hello,
We have bunch of Mother Board with old BIOS version (02.01.0008 or 0009) and would like to upgrade them to 02.01.0015.
The question is do we need to go step by step from v08 --> v09 --> .... --> v14 --> v15? This is very troublesome for doing on multiple board. Is it okay if we can go directly from v08 or v09 to v15?
Another question, is there a different between upgrading BIOS in-band in OS (Ubuntu 18.04) vs UEFI? is it safe to do it in OS or it has to be done in UEFI.
Thank you in advance for the help.
Loc Nguyen

Hello LocN,
Thank you for the additional information.
Is recommended to perform a step-by-step update since some BIOS versions are required before installing a new version.
For example, if you want to install BIOS 02.01.0012 you need to have BIOS 02.01.0011 first. Failure to get to the required firmware stack may cause unexpected results.
Regarding your second question, based on your OS version Ubuntu 18.04 in order to update the BIOS you need to have OS version Ubuntu* 20.4
We do recommend updating the BIOS using the UEFI method.
Best regards,
Sergio S.
