Intel RAID RMS25PB080 Beeping

Hi All

I have a drive that went bad in my Windows 2012 server, the server started to beep and the drive was blinking orange. So I was able to replace the drive with a spare drive, but the drive is still blinking orange and green. The green is blinking fast alone aside drive 4 (drive 3 is the one replaced), but the drive is still beeping and blinking orange is still normal for RMS25PB080 to behave this way. I thought that the RMS25PB080 is hot swap able? Can someone advise me on what I am doing wrong here? TIA...

Hello Wooying ,

According tohttp://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/motherboards/server/sb/g37519003_rms25pb080_rms25pb040_rms25cb080_rms25cb.pdf Intel® Integrated Raid Module RMS25PB080 Technical Product Specification (TPS)http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/motherboards/server/sb/g37519003_rms25pb080_rms25pb040_rms25cb080_rms25cb.pdf beep codes it is normal for the newly replaced drive to short beep(1 Second on, 3 seconds off): Using hot spare in rebuild; alarm will continue during rebuild with a different sound at completion.

See the following codes:

While this process is complete the replaced Drive will show activity and thus, the server will beep and the drive will be blinking orange until the RAID is rebuilt and process completes for that newly added drive.
