No BIOS video display problem

Hi,

I managed to set up the P4304CR2LFKN by installing 2 XEON processors, populate all RAM slots for total of 256GB RAM and nvidia graphic card (installed in slot 1 PCI Gen3). But when I boot up, with processor fans and system fans blowing well, no beeping sound but there is no display from the internal video or from the graphic card output. Tried clearing BIOS but still no display. Please help. Let me know if I missed a step etc or what can be the likely problem.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Amirwan

I suggest to check the system compatibility first.

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-033391.htm Intel Workstation Boards — Hardware and memory compatibility

If can not find any compatibility then check the Technical Product Specification for the system configuration and limitations

However better to tell the people that specific parts such as what model of Nvidea VGA card of your system then someone can provide solution.

Which CPU are you using? You may first try with minimal configuration, say one CPU and one DIMM. Check the status of POST Code Diagnostic LEDs. See Appendix D of the board TPS for decoding information.

Hi edwardzh, did all that before purchase by consulting Intel website to ensure all components are compatible. Consulted Intel support and they inform that the E5-2690-V2 processors need BIOS updates on motherboard to function correctly. They suggest getting an older processor to start up the workstation and do the BIOS updates. Once done, revert back to the newer processors. If still no video at startup, then motherboard needs to be changed. Now waiting for Intel distributor to provide temporary loaner processor (old ones) to do the BIOS updates.

Thanks for yr suggestion.

Amir
