Hello,

Does anybody have experience in installing 32 GB of ECC RAM using 2 x 16 GB modules onto S1200KP or S1200KPR motherboards?

To be more specific, I want to use Kingston modules:

1600 MHz - KVR16R11D4/16

or

1333 MHz- KVR13R9D4/16

Thank you.

I'm afraid the answer is no. As per the http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s1200kp/sb/CS-032722.htm Technical product specification, the board supports 16GB maximum total system memory. It's highly recommended that you choose DIMMs from the http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s1200kp/sb/CS-032870.htm tested memory list.

Well, manual says that memory should be 1333, but other users reported that it works with 1600 memory. Also it works with i7 CPUs. So board has something more than it is written in specs.

What could limit RAM to 16 GB only, BIOS?

16Gb modules are always registered. This MB (as all 1155 MBs), supports only unregistered.
