Good day to all.

When the server is turned on, the information on the monitor is not transmitted, the periphery does not work.

There is a polling of the hard drives, after that the server gradually increases the fan speed to the maximum.

In RMM3 error:

Pwr Unit Status | reports the power unit is powered off or being powered down, reports there has been a soft power control failure, reports the power unit has suffered a failure | 0x0061.

In logs:

After turning off the button, sound signals are heard, to decode the error of the power problem.

Resetting the BIOS does not help.

Power supplies were replaced from another server - there is no result.

Changed the board into which the power supplies are inserted to the same from the production server - there is no result.

A month before, there was an error in the logs:

Hello Vladimir Pavlyshyn,

Thank you for contacting Intel Technical Support.

I understand that the server board S5520UR is getting the error code Pwr Unit Status error 0x0061. You already reseated BIOS, replaced power supplies and the power distribution board but the problem persists.

Is the server board running into an Intel Chassis? If so may I have the model?

You also mentioned: "After turning off the button, sound signals are heard, to decode the error of the power problem." Can you please provide the beep codes heard when you turn off the server?

Have you tried the server on bare bones? Can you please send the logs reported a month ago?

Please let me know your results.

Regards,

Jeremiah A.

Hi Vladimir Pavlyshyn,

Thank you for the information provided.

Correct, the idea of doing bare bones is to test the board out the chassis on basic configuration. You can test the board on a none conductive surface. Test the board with a different known good power supply unit. Remove the memory and test it with one memory stick at a time.

Please let me know your results.

Hi, Jeremiah.

I did as you said.

I removed the motherboard from the case, put the plastic part under it. I tried with one memory stick and no memory at all. I took the power supply units from my 3rd server for the purity of the experiment.

At some point the error changed to 0x0020 - reports there has been a soft power control failure.

In general, the result is the same - the server starts with a burning problem indicator and turns off with the same beeps.

Hi Vladimir Pavlyshyn,

Thank you for your information.

Based on what you have done so far:

1- Test the board out the chassis

2- Tried different power supplies

3- Replaced the power distribution board

4- Tried external power suplies

5- Claer CMOS

6- Tried one memory stick at a time

The problem continues after that. At this point you will need to consider the option of replacing the server board.
