what's the difference between Xeon E5-5xxx and Xeon 5xxx series?

Hi experts

I got tasked with the job of finding a server that can have an intel sandy bridge processor today. So I looked up a bunch of servers and for example, the HP DL360 Gen8 supports Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 v2 processors. The Gen 6 version of the same server, from the spec sheet, just says Intel 5500/5600 Series Xeon® Processors. So I am trying to reconcile two different name/types. Now from the sandy bridge wiki page I can see that only the Xeon E3, E5 is listed. So I guess this means the Xeon 5500/5600 isn't sandy bridge?

Thanks

Davy
