1912 slow on OSx

I'm running on a MacBook Pro, 2.6 Ghz Core i5 OSx 10.10.3 with 8GB memory.

This thing is slow. When using the design feature, the lag time between dropping an element and seeing it is painful.

Is this a characteristic of running on OSx, or is it slow on Windows as well? I feel like I must be doing something wrong, or have something configured wrong.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I have the same issue on my Macbook Pro.  If you have too many components on the page, you will start to have issues where you can see the properties or other components.  I'm not sure what the core issue is (as it is better on my PC but still gets slow as I add component) but the issue has gotten bad enough that I've decided it's easier to develop in the code page and ignore the designer.  I'd love a visual designer that really gave me the ability to design but my experience is that once my app gets a full page of components, or a few pages; it gets unusable and I have to switch to code regardless.

This is primarily an issue on OSX. We are seeing the same thing here on our Macs, engineering is trying to figure out what it causing this, but no known cause at this time.

Hope you get this addressed soon. Something is seriously wrong. I just downloaded Window-10 beta and installed it in a VMware Fusion virtual machine with 2GB of memory - it runs MUCH better than it does natively on the Mac. On the Mac, it's unusable.

I have the same issue but only on Mac. Windows is ok.

The whole IntelXDK is slow in my case. Not just UI drag and drop as I dont use that. Even when I scroll in CODE view it is so slow it hurts my eyes. I have Macbook Pro "13 Retina with 8gb ram and 256 SSD.

It does help to restart the whole thing (XDK not laptop)

The issue has, finally, been identified, as a problem in the node-webkit subsystem on the Mac. However, it is not something that is easily fixed, so we do not know how long it will take to resolve it.

It has been resolved in the upcoming release, which will be appearing very soon. The release has been delayed due to the problems encountered over the weekend with our authentication servers.
