915GM with 1920x1200, possible?

Hi,

my favorite resolution ist 1920x1200 on a FSC A24W-3A Monitor.

The DTD I figured out from the MonInfo tool is

28 3C 80 A0 70 B0 23 40 30 20 36 00 06 44 21 00 00 1A

I tried to set this up by changing the igxp32.inf file, no effect.
I tried to enter it into the registrywith the 'DTD Calculator', no effect.

The PowerStrip tool offers something, but I always got a black screen.

Maybe the '915GM/GMS, 910GMLExpress' ist limited, so that I have no chance for this resolution?

If so, which res. works in 16:10.

Thanks so much for any comment.

Sorry, it took a bit to get back to you. 1920x1200 should be doable with 915GM. Make sure you're appending 37 01 to the end, and possibly tweak the DTD so ay BIOS limitations are worked around:

28 3C7E A2 70 B0 23 40 30 20 36 00 06 44 21 00 00 1A

(the one I sent you in email is wrong)

Make sure the mods you've made to the .inf are actually making it to the registry by using Find in regedit. De-install Powerstrip. It can interfere.

YES, thats it !!!! Thank you so much, archibael.

So, here's a solution for 'FSC lifebook 8020' containing 915 chipset with a FSC A24-w3a 16:10 display:

The 1920x1200 resolution cannot be entered (obviouslyforbidden in the bios).

But others are working:

For 1918x1200 insert
28 3C 7E A2 70 B0 23 40 30 20 36 00 06 44 21 00 00 1A
in the dev-version of the intel drivers as described in softwarecommunity.intel.com/Wiki/Graphics/239.htm

Also 1919x1200 can be used:
28 3C 7F A1 70 B0 23 40 30 20 36 00 06 44 21 00 00 1A

(The sharpness seems to differ in some regions: the 1918 version looks better).

Best regards, Holger

Hi Holger, hi archibael,

I've tried as described above : change inf file, reinstall the driver reboot the notebook uncheck the box with unsupported modes but it doesn't end up in the list of allowed resolutions.

Do you have any idea why ?.

I have the same hardware: 'FSC lifebook E8020' and FSC A24-W3A as Holger but it doesn't work :-(

best regards

Chevelon
