Hi everyone,
My Windows 10 Technical Preview machine auto-updated to the latest version released this week, Build 10074. After the update, the running speed of my RealSense project was increased by about 50%. It'll be interesting to hear if anyone else running Win 10 gets a similar RealSense performance boost once the new version is installed.
Edit: I thought I should clarify that my project is built in Unity 4.6. I say this because it is not clear whether the performance increase was due to greater efficiency in the RealSense camera algorithms or because of how Unity processes them. The distinction is important, because if the boost was resulting from Unity then people building non-Unity RealSense projects might not experience the same gains.

I chose Windows 10 because the Technical Preview version is free from the Microsoft website, and I only had Windows 7 and didn't want to have to pay for a copy of 8.1. :) I have absolutely no regrets. It's rock-solid stable and runs virtually all my software perfectly.
Here's where you can get 10 if you're interested. You download a 4 GB file that's of a type known as an ISO image and burn it onto a blank dvd as a disk image. Then you use it as a boot disk to install Win 10 onto a PC.
