Basics Intel XDK

Hey ! Hope all you are fine ! 
I have a little basic question regarding the Intel XDK that Which is the core language that on which this Software is built ? HTML 5 or javascript ?

Intel XDK itself is built using HTML5, Javascript and Nodejs
