Now that Intel and Compaq are together will we get integration of the Intel streaming SIMD extension technology (SSE and SSE-2) into CVF soon?

Soon? No. Eventually? Yes. Integrating Intel's code generation technology with Visual Fortran is a very large task, one that will take a long time. I don't want to try to predict when the merged product will be available.
We have seen, using Intel's compiler, that most Fortran programs don't benefit a lot from the SIMD instructions. (Some do.)
