I'm using a trial version but at this point it doesn't look like this is going to work for me.
Visual Studio allowsthe debuggeerto attach to a running process -- why can't I do that with the Amplifier rather be required to launch the app from inside VS? If I can attach to an externally launched app, then how?
I see I am able to provide an .exe but that won't work for a more complicated app.
VTune allows me to monitor performance without it assuming it has to launch the application.
How do I do something similar with Parrallel Studio, e.g. for the Amplifier?
i.e. I dont need these tools to launch my application: let me do that externally -- just as in VTune I can provide the modules of interest.
Thanks,
Matt.

Hi Matt,
Amplifier is a product that intended to work along with Microsoft Visual Studio only, and there is no capability to attach to a process.
Profiling the whole system is a functionality that available in VTune. We will keep advanced features in VTune product and we will add attaching to a process to the features set.
