Chassis Heat managment - D955xbk

I am configuring a number of workstations that use the D955XBK motherboard. Given the power consumed by the graphics card, disks and processor the chassis heat management is a must. I've installed the external temperature sensor and fans that should do the job, however I cannot seem to find any technical information on how to setup or control the fans. I plan ot write an application to manage the chassis heat and need some technical info.
