Depth Camera and IR sensor not working, SDK examples crashes

Hello!

I am running a I5-3570 CPU @ 3.40 GHz, 8.00 GB RAM on a Windows 8.1 64Bits OS. intel_rs_sdk_offline_4.0.0.112526. Connected on USB 3.0.

I installed the SDK and then the intel_rs_dcm_f200_1.3.20.36232. I managed to use some of the SDK apps (Camera Viewer, Blob viewer, etc...). BTW even at this time, 3DMe was not working (launch the app was ok, but the capture step froze instantly after less than 1 sec). But after some time most of them does not work anymore... (even emotion viewer).

>When i go into Capture viewer the Color Streams are running well, in either resolution.

>All the Depth Streams in 640x240 resolution work but NONE of the 640x480. They all start and freeze after less than 1 sec.

>All the IR in 640x240 resolution work but NONE of the 640x480. They all start and freeze after less than 1 sec.

Some other people seem to have the same issue but i don't know if some resolutions work fro them.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Nicolas,

Could you try that on another haswell machine and post back here if it works?

Hello,

we tried using it on another machine (i7) but it does not work at all.

After all, the behavior is super herratic. Now even the video Color Streams are super slow (more like 1 FPS).

It seems the issue might be caused by the USB 3.0 drivers. We currently use ASMedia XHCI Controler, could it be wrong ?

Any idea what might be the problem or how we could identify it?

Thank you very much

I recall that other people have had trouble with the ASMedia USB drivers and had more luck with the camera when they used native drivers instead of third-party ones.

One person who had the XHCI problem got the camera working on their PC by going into its BIOS settings (the settings that the PC reads in the first few seconds of start-up) and enabled XHCI support in the BIOS.

Connecting my R200 to a USB3 port on the front of my SilverStone chassis caused RS SDK R4 samples to crash. Fixed by connecting directly to a USB3 port on the back of my Asus z87i-deluxe motherboard. XHCI is enabled in my BIOS.

Although RS SDK R4 code samples are now working, 3dme is not.
