Hi. I hope this is posted in the right forum. I need help with my monitor problem.

For some odd reason, the EDID data from my monitor is not being read. I can't select the native resolution for my wide screen monitor which is 1680 x 1050. I have the Intel 82865G Graphics Controller and my monitor is made by Westing House Digital. I'm currently using 1280 x 1024 reslolution which makes things looked stretched and skewed. I found out that my EDID is not being read by using the Monitor Asset Manager program. The results are as follows:

Monitor
Hardware information........ n/a
Windows description......... Default Monitor

Display adapter
Adapter description......... Intel 82865G Graphics Controller
Adapter device ID........... 0x25728086
Display settings............ 1280x1024, 32bpp

User/computer information
Registered user name........ [name]
Registered organization..... n/a
Network user name........... Jason
Network computer name....... DELLUPSTAIRS
Windows version ............ Windows XP
Windows build .............. 5.01.2600 Service Pack 2
Installation date .......... 4/20/2004 12:00:00 PM

So you see there's no information regarding my plug and play monitor. It just shows default monitor which is wrong. How do I get my native resolution back to normal? It was working just fine until one day my computer shut down improperly and when I turned it back on it was at the wrong resolution. Please help me if you can. Thank you in advance.
