Hi,
I've got a floating license for Composer XE. Works fine, but I've got one remote user - he connects to our network over VPN - and he's saying there's a three-second delay each time his compiler needs to contact our license server. This is causing his builds to take forever. Is there a way to remeidate this? Perhaps give him a local license so that his system doesn't need to contact our flexlm server?

Michael,
A borrowed license may be the solution. The "remote" user can check out a license onto the local system for some time (default is 7 days), work offline and then connect back after 7 days or re-check out the license again for another borrow period. During the time of borrowing the offline license seat is not available in the regular floating license pool. If borrowing is not an option, some finetuning with the remote license via VPN may be helpful. The borrow period can also be extended on request.

Hubert,
Sorry for the late reply. Your suggestion on borrowing the license worked perfectly. The link you gave was good for getting the procedure on how to set this up (although the command usage on that link was incorrect in a couple cases).
Thanks!

Michael,
Well, we need to rework the borrowing knowledgebase article a little bit. Thanks for letting me know.
