How to protect SR300 against theft in public areas?

Hi,

I would like to use the RealSense SR300 (mounted on a Windows tablet) in stores, supermarkets, museums and other public areas. In these places, the devices will be accessible to everyone. Thus, I am looking for antitheft solutions (lockers, fixations, etc.). Has anyone solved this problem already? Can you share knowledge on that?

Regards.

You can put a person there.

Do you have a less expensive solution? A way to lock the SR300 to the tablet for example?

Instead of a person you could use a grad student ;)

Other than that, well, it will just depend on how far your thieves will go.

F200 does come with a tripod mount, so maybe SR300 as well has that. You could at a minimum secure it in a fixed tripod or similar structure. At least it would take a little while to take it.

Thanks for your answer. Could you post a photo of your F200's tripod mount? It would help me braintsorm.

Well, it's a standard mounting hole at the bottom. Here's an image that I found in the web:

Just wanted to comment that it's sad that we have to devote time and energy in an Intel Technology forum to try to keep thieves away.
