How to read S-Spec from CPU

I have a need to sort installed CPUs by S-Spec so that we can determine if the are production, qualification (QS), or engineering (ES) samples and will usually rely on the physical markings of the CPU.    However, we deal with 1000's of CPUs and opening the system, removing the heat sinks, clearing the thermal paste is very labor intensive and leave room for error.  

How could I read the CPU S-Spec from a running system?
