Hi,
I have a Intel Xeon Phi Knights Landing (KNL) processor model "Intel(R) Xeon Phi(TM) CPU 7210 @ 1.30GHz". I have installed CentOS Linux release 7.3.1611 with the kernel version 3.10.0-514.26.2.el7.x86_64. I want to know whether I should install the Intel Xeon Phi Processor Software (xppsl) listed at https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/xeon-phi-software.
Thanks,
Shilpa

The xppsl packages include some nice utilities for measuring performance and doing some diagnostics on the Xeon Phi. Also, a special version of the 'hwloc' utility is included as well as the memkind library.
You don't have to install any of these if you don't use them, but they can be handy to have around.
