Intel Software Manager: is Compiler 14.0 update to Fortran Compiler XE 2013 going to be available?

Hi,

Is this the right place for Intel Software Manager questions?

Intel Software Manager, on my Windows 7 PC as well as those of my colleagues, does not notify us of the compiler 14.0 upgrade even though it became available 3 weeks ago.

For those users who have earlier versions of Fortran, we find Intel Software Manager notifies them about Update 5 which occured late June (06/24/2013).

It is almost as if the server that Intel Software Manager talks to has not been updated of reflect the Fortran compiler 14.0 update.

Can someone at Intel help with this issue?  Since our team has a network license, we are unable to go directly to the Download Center and get the update.  Hence this request.

Thanks in advance,

That was a known problem initially when 14.0 was released. Customers were not notified about the update. But (to my knowledge) this should have been fixed meanwhile. Could you please close the Intel Software Manager, restart it and check for new updates?

The other reason of the missing update notificaton may be that the serial number you activated with the ISM is expired. Which serial number are you using for your floating installation (you may need to look into the license file that is running on the server, check for the SMSAxxxxxxxx string which included the last 8-characters string of the serial number)? Which serial number is shown in the ISM?

Please reply using the 'Send Author A Message' link if you want to provide your serial number or share other confidental information.

Reagards, Hubert.

Hello Hubert,

Thank you for your response.

"Could you please close the Intel Software Manager, restart it and check for new updates?" - yes, I tried this several times over the last two days on two different PCs, but Intel Software Manager still doesn't notify us of the Fortran Compiler 14.0 update.

"Which serial number is shown in the ISM?"

- actually I made a mistake.  We do not seem to have a network license file.  Instead it is a network license setup using FLEXlm license manager running on a server on the internal company network.  There is a xxxx_USE_SERVER.lic file in my C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\Licenses folder, but there is no SMSAxxxxxxxx string in it.

- hence ISM simply states N/A for the serial number.  However it does say "Valid Support" under Status for both Intel(R) Visual Fortran Composer XE 2013 and Intel(R) Math Kernel Library 11.0.

As I mentioned earlier, ISM does pick up Update 5 to Fortran compiler version 13 on PCs that are running update 2, 3 etc.  It is just that compiler 14.0 is not getting picked up still.

Is there a way I can the latest Fortran update?

Thanks,
