Hello,
Thank you for contacting Intel Software Network Support.
You can find all of our Intel Pentium II processor documentation at:
http://intel.com/design/pentiumii/documentation.htm
You may find the Optimizations Manuals helpful under the 'Manuals' section at that page.
Regards,
Gina B.

Another $.02 from support:
Intel Software Network does host some of the old MMX appnotes, and we haveaccess tosome of the no-longer-published ones, but not all. We weren't able to find much information about this one eitheron or off the Intel sites (or in our personal stash). If you have an appnote number, publication date or any other clarifying info, we'll be happy to look around for it.
Point taken about the site organization -- it *should* be possible to find what you need using the site search feature, ifwhat you need isavailable. If you ever need help or feel the search engine isn't working as it should, please contact us by mail with the details.
For newer technologies, this type of "how-to" information tends to get stored in our Knowledgebase Wiki.

http://www.sandpile.org/docs/intel/mmx.htm
but those files aren't publicly available. Though in the process of rummaging I did find the index to all available articles at
http://softwarecommunity.intel.com/articles/
which is what I was initially looking for. Whether it's supposed to be there or not I don't know

TJMor:
I know this is probably the wrong place to ask, but where did all those cool articles go that used to be on the Intel site - are they archived anywhere? I'm looking specifically for "Optimized String Search with MMX".
Most MMX AP-notes are available here:
http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/mmxt-technology-manuals-and-application-notes
But I don't see any string related; If you still need this doc, contact me, I have got pdf.
