Hi

I just noticed that the lastest x20* processor drivers are available for Ubuntu 17.10 - does this mean that ubuntu is supported now?

Only for the X205 family apparently, unless we're told otherwise. Frankly I'd jump at the opportunity to dump CentOS.

Edit: Oh hang on ...

In this release version 2.3.0, the software packages are applicable for both Intel® Xeon Phi™ x200
and Intel® Xeon Phi™ x205 product families.

Now that is interesting. Nice find, dude.

The headline states that it is the x205 family. But if you read the text it says x200 and x205 is supported and the list of supported processors include only the x200 processors

Here's the one I downloaded last week:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27406/Intel-Xeon-Phi-Processor-Software-x200

As you can see the version numbers have jumped from 1.5.4 to 2.3.0 in a very short time.

The version numbers for RHEL are a bit confusing in this new one though. In some places it says 7.0 and in other places 7.4 so I'm unsure whether it applies to 7.3

They need to be specific about these things. In any case the version of Parallel Studio I'm running on CentOS only works up to 7.3 according to the docs, so until they change that I'll sit tight.

Looking over the contents I can not see any way that the presence of the Ubuntu 17.1 package could mean support for that OS. The XPPS packages seem to be runtime support tools for those who don't have a full development environment installed, such as end user machines.
