After confusion during my license renewal, I have received a new serial number and was then forced to download a license file. I am now nor sure whether the license file should be in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\Licenses" or "program files (86)" OR "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\Licenses" which is where all my old license files are

Hi,
If you are using a version 2016 license, you may not receive the license file from registration email attachment.
Please refer to licensing FAQs on
"How do I get my license file for Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2016?"
"How do I get a license file for an offline installation of Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2016?"
from https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/licensing-faq
Thanks.

It is not how to acquire the license file that I was asking. I have succeeded with that. The question is where should it be located in MY COMPUTER. Please refer to my original post

Sorry for my misunderstanding.
You should put it under C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\Licenses. Replace the old one, which should be retired after renewal.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Yolanda
