Migrating License files to a new server + FlexLM

On behalf of the user community here at work, I have a situation where I want to migrate the Intel Fortran Compiler tool to a new server (from an old server) but cannot seem to migrate it's cooresponding License files across without changing the HOST Name and ID in the first record of the Lic file. I tried editing Lic file but did not work (flagged as invalid lic file) when trying to compile (via MS Visual Studio 2005). I am not the registered owner of this product and was wondering how I can transfer ownership to myself? I have registered at the Intel Registration sie but could notget information on this product by entering the Serial Number (product not registered under my name), as I probably could get new Lic files (with new Hostname & Id provided) if I were the owner.

Any insights on transferrinf ownership of tool or getting new lic files are appreciated.

This FAQ should point you to the action to resolve such questions.

If you have access to the support account under which the license is registered, it should be sufficient to submit the request for license modification there. There is also a separate forum page for licensing questions.

Please go to this direct link below to learn how you may change your host settings yourself.

Thank you for all you're references as I've already gone done those paths to see how far I can get. I've logged into the Intel Registration Center and I DO see a list of products I supposedly have registered under my name (OR stole from my colleague the original registerer). Under the product subscription history I see the product serial no and, SKU, etc BUT Licenses and Purchases columns (i symbol)are locked out (says only admin of this serial no may perform this operation). I SUSPECT since this product is NOT REALLY registered (owner) under my name I do not have permission to 'manage' the existing licenses (2) associated with it and cannot drill down further in the process. I didn't see the "Manage" link for the associated serial number of the product in question nor "Modify Host Information" key. I have the new HOSTNAME & HOST Id ready to submit for new Lic files but hitting a dead end.

My colleague wants to get out of biz of managing this tools and transfer to myself (if there is a way???). As noted above, I've already tried re-registering this product under my name but doesn't look like I have full permission to manage it.

Any other workaround is appreciated,

Tom

Your colleague could log into the support account and file a ticket requesting the ownership of it be transferred to you.
