Need Help. Used* to work, no longer does.

In short, same computer, same camera, used to work, no longer does. Nothing else has changed. System Restore doesn't do anything. All F200 samples give either 'init failed' or crash immediately. Unity (which is what I wanted to use) also doesn't work. For whatever reason, the Raw Streams sample actually does work, so I can deduce that the camera itself is connected. What other information can I give that would help you guys help me out? I did redownload/install the SDK and everything; no dice. Running Intel 5500U i7 Thanks in advance, and sorry for posting another of these. I read 5-6 other threads with similar issues but their resolutions haven't helped me.

Hi Austin,

Have you installed the DCM for your camera? Sounds like the problem I was having when I first used the new SDK and didn't realise you needed to get the drivers separately. You can get them from here: https://software.intel.com/en-us/intel-realsense-sdk/download.

Hope this helps!

Hi Austin,

Have a look at this thread I just posted about "init failed" errors:

Please provide the version of OS, whether you have August update if 8.1 and what version of DCM is installed (you can look at list of programs under Control panel).

@James~ I had v1.2, and just changed to v1.3. It didn't appear to help very much, but the 3dSeg sample now works, and it didn't before?

@Robert~ Unfortunately, the samples don't ever work for me. I mean, they used to on this computer, but even after hard restarts or local service restarts, it won't work.

@Colleen~ OS: Windows8.1, just did Windows Update and restart, still nothing. I've downloaded and installed DCM 1.3 for F200 (see here http://i.imgur.com/M4ckOHX.png). Possibly related: I can't uninstall the other version (1.2). I select it in the Windows Uninstall console, a green loading bar appears, and then.. nothing happens. Need I download some third party software removal program?

Thanks all for the help.

I'm pretty frustrated about this because it did used to work, on this computer, and I basically left it and the device alone for two months or so and now it simply doesn't work. Any more information I can provide, and I gladly will. Thanks again

I would try this:
From Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall, I would uninstall all DCMs and realsense SDK's that are installed. I would also uninstall any additional realsense runtimes listed.
Reboot
Reinstall DCM - make sure all 3 camera listings are shown under imaging devices
Reinstall the SDK.

For whatever reason, uninstalling doesn't do anything.

A green progress bar comes up, and then nothing happens. I can uninstall the two newer ones, but not the v1.2 DCM nor v4.0.0.112526 SDK

This seems to be a common problem, I have had this issue for a while and tried just about everything.  See me post here: https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/topic/564336

I wish someone would fix this problem soon, or lets us know what the potential problem is so we can "crowd fix" the problem.
