Intel® Parallel Studio XE Professional Edition 2016 (Trial) web-install fails (chrashes) at "Loading config_itac.xml". And i am running it as Admin and all that shit. I did try the full version and it also failed the same way. I tried to bypass it by renaming config_itac.xml. But the next xml (config_advisor.xml) generated the same result.
Setup: Windows 10 Pro x64
Intel Core i7 920
VS2013 and VS2015

/Mattias

Hello,
I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with installation. In order to investigate this further can you provide installation log files found in AppData\Local\Temp\pset_tmp_PSXE2016_$USER.NAME_*.log where the last part is the timestamp. Please note that the directory might be different on your system.
Thank you,

Hello,
Install crashed during processing ISM component previously installed on the system. It is possible that ism.msi is broken. The first step to try is to reinstall this component. We’d like to know the version of the pre-installed ISM:
Please follow these steps:
Find C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\Intel Software Manager\ism.exe
Right click on it, Properties, Details, Product version
Please send us the version of ISM for further investigation.
Thank you,

There is no ism.exe int C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\Intel Software Manager. not even the folder \Intel Software Manager.
There is one though in C:\Users\Mattias\AppData\Local\Intel Corporation\ism_current\ (v 2.0.019.0) ism2.exe (v 2.0.019.24114)
Im beginning to suspect what the issue might be. I did try the PS 11 XE some time ago. And when i uninstalled it didnt remove ism.exe. I removed it manually. Windows 10 is very picky from where to launch applications. Its very strange location for an download app to be in. I suspect some sort of access voilation to that folder, but im just guessing. To me it looks like a temporary installation of ISM. So im guessing some sort of reinstallion of ism is needed, once again im guessing ;)
Best Regards
Mattias

I did a simple test just removed the folder with ISM in temporary. I didnt matter, exactly the same result. That follows the issue cant be in the ISM.EXE. Not directly atleast.
