Problem with initializing sensor (R200)

I've installed the R200 on two computers but can't get it to work with an application.  Both computers have USB 3.0 ports and one is Windows 7 and the other is Windows 8.1 (Surface Pro 3).  The app I'm trying in Z Vector Touch.  I've tried another one had has a similar error message.  The driver installation didn't go smoothly but after a few attempts it seemed to be fine.  I do see the R200 in my device manager list by the way.  Any advice?  Do I have a broken device?

It won't work in Windows 7.

Make sure you have the DCM installed as well, and that the firmware of the camera is correctly installed.
