The R2 release is now publicly available (v 4.0 is what you will get when downloading the RS SDK from Intel after registering at http://makebettercode.com/realsensesdk/en).
Important Note:  The DCM (Camera Manager) has been separated from the SDK installer and is a separate download (available from the same download page).
Installation Instructions:
Please uninstall the earlier SDK (will also uninstall the DCM).
Reboot.
Install the 4.0 SDK. Install the 1.2 DCM.
Reboot.

The release notes (available on the same download page) list the changes and known issues of the R2 RSSDK.

Samonta - Looks like we have to register and then download.

Also have to uninstall the previous version for things to work as expected.

Hi guys,

Just updated the SDK, and now the depth camera stopped working. It was working fine with SDK R1 though.

I followed the provided install procedures exactly:

Installation Instructions:
Please uninstall the earlier SDK (will also uninstall the DCM).
Reboot.
Install the 4.0 SDK. Install the 1.2 DCM.
Reboot.

But when trying the samples, only the rgb camera works. When a sample tries to use the depth camera, it starts the IR projector on the camera, but nothing gets displayed.

I will start to trouble shoot now...

OK, got it working now. I think I know how to solve it.

When uninstalling everything you need to also remove everything about the camera in the Device Manager. Specifically under the Imaging Devices and Universal Serial Bus Devices. Also, make sure you have the camera connected in the entire process.

After I removed everything and reinstalled the DCM and the SDK, everything worked fine. I think the problem was that the DCM was somehow not correctly installing the Camera Virtual Driver. After you install the DCM, open the Device Manager and make sure you have these 3 things installed correctly:

Hello,

I recently bought an Intel RealSense 3D camera and tried to install its required softwares as follows:

1. SDK (intel_rs_sdk_offline_4.0.0.112526)

However there was a warning message as follows:

The installer is unable to check the camera firmware to ensure compatibility with this SDK version.
The installation will continue without updating Intel® RealSense™ Depth Camera Manager.
If after installation, the SDK sample applications do not detect an Intel® RealSense™ 3D camera, your system is not compatible with this SDK version.
Please contact your system administrator for help.

2. I ignored this warning and installed the SDK. Then I installed the DCM (intel_rs_dcm_f200_1.3.20.36232).

Intel® RealSense™ Depth Camera Manager F200 Setup Wizard ended prematurely because of an error(s).
Details:
Intel RealSense 3D camera firmware update failed. The installer failed to update the firmware of your
Intel RealSense 3D camera. The camera firmware may be corrupted. Contact your computer manufacturer for recovery instructions.
Error code: -4
To install this program at a later time, run Setup Wizard again. Click
the Dinish button to exist the Setup Wizard.

Note: Please see the attachments (screen captures of the errors)

(2) Sound, video, game controllers

(3) Universal Serial Bus Devices
Intel RealSense 3D Camera (Front F200) Device

- I do not see any " Imaging Devices" in my Device Manager

Hi Poonam,

I am in your same situation.

I can't upgrade the firmware of RealSense and the error code is -4.

If you find a solution, please, post it.

My pc is a Aspire E1-572G Intel i7-4500U.
I don't post any screen, they would be the same of the post above this.

Thanks in advice,
Marco

Can you try DCM 1.2 instead of 1.3?  There is a dependency to update the FW in order - and 1.2 must be installed before 1.3 for the standalone cameras.

Hi Colleen,

I tried to install DCM 1.2 but it doesn't recognize the camera.
If I unplug before the DCM 1.3 installation the error code is -3.
If it is plugged the DCM 1.3 installation error code is -4. Then it is somehow recognized, I suppose.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advice

Do any of the 3 cameras show in Device Manager?  Does the Uninstall Programs list show any Intel DCM installed?

I need you to look under Dispositivi di acquisizione immagini and see if there are 3 cameras listed there.
Also under USB controllers (sono per le porte USB) to see what that says.

There aren't any of the three Realsense cameras under Dispositivi di acquisizione immagini.
I give to you the screen of what you asked for.

What can I do?

@Marco G. Wed, 04/08/2015 - 13:11

Hello Marco G.,

Mine one is working fine now. Your issue is exactly same as mine. First of all, you must try to see IMAGING DEVICES in your Device Manager. If you see the post before mine (samontabSat, 03/28/2015 - 22:08), there is a screen capture of Device Manager. His device manager shows three things:

(1) Intel(R) RealSense(TM) 3D Camera (Front F200) Depth
(2) Intel(R) RealSense(TM) 3D Camera (Front F200) RGB
(3) Intel(R) RealSense(TM) 3D Camera Virtual Driver

The item (3) Intel(R) RealSense(TM) 3D Camera Virtual Driver, is shown only after you install DCM. For DCM installation, please follow the Collin's suggestion (Colleen Culbertson (Intel), Wed, 04/08/2015 - 08:49).  That is, install DCM 1.2 first, and then 1.3.

How to get IMAGING DEVICES in Device Manager ?
- Open Device Manager
- Do you see IMAGING DEVICES ?
- If not, then Click (View -> Show hidden devices)
- Check what you see under IMAGING DEVICES
- If you see UNKNOWN, then Right Click on it, and DELETE it
- Then, Restart your PC
- Open Device Manager again and check if you see IMAGING DEVICES
- If you do not see, then Click (View -> Show hidden devices)
- You must see IMAGING DEVICES now and following following cameras underneath it

(1) Intel(R) RealSense(TM) 3D Camera (Front F200) Depth
(2) Intel(R) RealSense(TM) 3D Camera (Front F200) RGB

- Now you must install your DCM (1.2 first and then 1.3).
- Check your Device Manager. You must now see (3) Intel(R) RealSense(TM) 3D Camera Virtual Driver

NOTE: In all the above explanation, I am assuming that you have already installed your SDK. And your camera is connected in USB 3.0 port.
COMMENT: The error code -4, seems to come only when the cameras (1) and (2) are not visible in DEVICE MANAGER / IMAGING DEVICES. In my case, if I open Intel RealSense SDK Sample Browser, I can RUN all the samples now (I was not able to do it earlier).

Thanks Colleen for all the help.

Poonam

Ok been trying to give this a go on my own, but just been hitting walls with this fist day I've got the camera all worked fine then it was no longer recognized tried reinstalling got the same errors most are describing today on a fresh windows reinstalled camera not found, firmware update failure, try after try, then uninstaled again and for some reason 1.2 worked sdk worked, firmware update didn't show errors, BUT as soon as I tried installing 1.3 I'm back on the same road not identified not recognized, not sure why 1.3 has an option for not updating the firmware, if the option is not checked there is no way to continue, and is here exactly were the installer breaks shows problems trying to update the firmware and I'm send out.... any clues?????
