There are two webviews you can select for use with a Cordova app on iOS devices. The "standard" UIWebView and the WKWebView. To use this other webview you'll have to find a plugin that supports the use of it with a Cordova or PhoneGap app. The Intel XDK creates standard Cordova apps.
