I have started a new Ionic project (First one using this new UI) and I am having real issues with performance, stability and coding.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled XDK and this has made no difference.
Also experiencing the following issues
1. Trying to create a new Style nothing happens.
2. When running emulator it will hang on Cordova Preparing Sources, normally after 1 successful emulation. Have to Force Quit and start again.
3. Over time I cannot switch projects unless I restart XDK.
4. XDK does not and will not quit, I have to Force Quit every time then get asked about a safe start every time.
5. Changing projects does not update the design screen every time unless I force a refresh..
6. Cannot remove Project from Project list after removing one already.
Thought I would give the Windows version of 1912 a try, installed, loaded project, still had issues with responsiveness, quit XDK now it will not restart at all unless I manually kill all 7 nw.exe processes each time.
Have tried with a new project with a new Framework (App Framework) and experiencing the same issues.
This is really frustrating and driving me nuts and severely hampering the development cycle.

Which OS X version are you using?
Are you using Intel XDK or Intel XDK IoT Edition?
Also, Are you using the App Designer tool under the Design Tab?

Hi I'm using OSX 10.10.3.
I'm using Intel XDK 1912.
Problems started when tried to use Ionic framework. When I started again with App Framework the problems persisted.
I'm using the design option next to the code option in XDK.

I am experiencing "Cordova Preparing Sources" popups too!
Dropped a header on the page and tried to type in the "label" field. While typing just 10 characters, the popup came and went quickly many times.
Finally did it so many times, I figured out what it was saying. LOL
I also tried adding a footer and the same issue happened editing "label" field.
Here is the scoop on my system and process:
Win 8
XDK Early Access 2337
New Project with App Designer
Chose Iconic
Dropped header and footer onto canvas
Attempted to update "label" field
Result: many, quick "Cordova Preparing Sources" popups
Hope this helps!

I followed your instructions and ran in the emulator but did not experience the popups.
I have Win 8.1 and used Intel XDK EA 2337. I chose a blank template and HTML5+Cordova with App Designer, then chose the Ionic Framework. The only difference, perhaps, is that I dragged the header on and changed the header label before dragging the footer on and changing the footer label. Everything was fine, so I thought maybe your issue occurred later, when you were running it. But I had no problem in the emulator.
Try again and tell me if you are still having the same issue.
Also, FYI, notice that there is a separate forum for Early Access - go to the Intel XDK forum and then you will see the list of the 3 other forums. EA is at https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-xdk-early-access

p.s. The features that are part of the EA 2337 release have been incorporated into the latest 2496 release, so it might be safer to upgrade to 2496. We have a hotfix coming soon for the 2496 release that fixes several of the known bugs around it that you may be seeing in this forum.
