What is "Native P-state support"

I am using a Dell system with Intel E5320 Xeon processor. Dell's web site posted an updated BIOS. One of the new things in the updated BIOS is "* Added Native P-state support". What does this mean exactly? What added voltage/frequency scaling capabilities will I have with this native P-state support?

Hi,

Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology creates processor perfomance states (P-states) or voltage/frequency operating points. P-states are lower power capability states within the Normal state as refer inFigure 7-1 of theIntel Xeon Processor datasheet.Please refer to the datasheet for more details.
